Block Island is a small isle off the coast of Rhode Island.   The island is the result of glacial deposits created during the ice ages that came to an end 10,000 years ago.  These glaciers dug out Narragansett Bay and deposited a large amount of rock and clay where Block Island is now located.   The waters around the island have very rocky bottom structure that is great for bait fish to hide in and many predator species will cruise along looking to ambush baitfish and crustaceans through this structure.  Block Island is a great fishing destination and many predator species can be caught in around the island at various well-know fishing spots.    On this site we will talk about some of these areas and what makes them so good for fishing.  Check out the navigation menu on the right for more information.
